Everything starts from the power plug of the UNTITLED Space gallery — the energy source and the starting point of the journey through electric cables connecting urban photographic views.
Wirescapes is a mixed-media exhibition that uses the space as a canvas to visualize the complexity of hyper-connected city life. The installation combines urban photographs and recycled technological materials, showcasing creative ways of mingling and mixing different disciplines.
While people often crave solitude and calmness in a large metropolis, Wirescapes demonstrates how a linked city helps us to discover new perspectives, leave a positive mark, or even make a new connection that will inspire others.
In our entangled world, just one small change will have a ripple effect on the city fabric, amplifying the power of individual decisions. If our actions foster a sustainable and ethical lifestyle, they will impact a larger community and, consequently, a more significant part of the city.
Wirescapes is the result of an unexpected and singular connection that, ironically, would only happen in a large urban context. Two eccentric personalities — the Italian architect with a passion for recycling and the Georgian software engineer with a love for photography — crossed each other's paths during a sakura-viewing in the heart of the 37-million-people city.
We believe in random connections because "you can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backward."
Every dot is the start for a new connection.
